Sigaw ng Kalikasan: A Call for Environmental Justice

The Amada & Vicente Ravanera Foundation stands in solidarity with communities fighting for environmental justice and the protection of our planet. This commitment reflects our deep belief that a flourishing life for all is impossible without a healthy environment—one where mountains stand tall, rivers flow clean, and the air remains pure.

We are proud to share "Sigaw ng Kalikasan" (Cry of Nature), a powerful anthem that gives voice to the urgent environmental crisis facing the Philippines and the world. This song speaks to the devastating impact of deforestation, mining, and corporate exploitation on indigenous communities and the natural world. It echoes the struggles we witness through our work: families displaced from ancestral lands, ecosystems destroyed for profit, and communities fighting to protect the Mother of Life from violation.

The song captures a profound truth: when nature is broken, so too are the communities that depend on it. Foreign corporations extract natural riches while local people go hungry. Farmers and Lumad peoples are driven from their lands to make way for plantations and mines. Yet amid this destruction, the song also carries a message of hope—the fire burning in the hearts of the youth, the united voice of the masses declaring that nature is our future.

"Sigaw ng Kalikasan" is both a lament and a rallying cry. It reminds us that environmental destruction is not inevitable, and that collective action—driven by love for the world and determination to defend life—can create change. AVRF believes that true social justice requires protecting the earth and the communities who have been its stewards for generations. This song serves as a powerful reminder of what is at stake and the urgent need for action.

Lyrics

Tagalog (Original)

Verse 1:
